Korean table tennis hopeful ‘Pipyak’ Shin Yu-bin (19) gained popularity by defeating strong players even before his professional league debut.

Shin Yu-bin (ranked 19th in the world) played as an ace in the 2023 Dunamu Korea Professional Table Tennis League (KTTL) Women’s Korea League match held at Studio T (Gwanggyo Gymnasium), a table tennis stadium in Suwon on the 5th, and scored 2-0 in one match against rival Kim Na-young. This is the first time Shin Yu-bin, who has undergone rehabilitation after surgery for a stress fracture in her wrist, has competed in her professional league, which was launched in January of last year. It has been about a year and five months since Shin Yu-bin took her domestic table tennis stage after the unemployed table tennis competition in September 2021.

After brushing off her injuries, Shin Yu-bin grew stronger. Yubin Shin raised her world ranking to 19th by winning her double at the Nova Gorica World Table Tennis (WTT) Contenders in Slovenia late last year. She recently qualified for all events, including women’s doubles and mixed doubles, followed by the individual event, in the Asian regional qualifiers for the 2023 World Championships in Durban.

In her first game before her return to the domestic stage, Shin Yu-bin, who faced Na-young Kim, scored 2 points in the first half and then made a mistake, giving her 4 points. Shin Yu-bin, who soon adapted to the atmosphere of her professional league, reached the 10 first with a backhand attack in a 9-9 situation and took her last point with a powerful forehand attack. Shin Yu-bin, riding on her atmosphere, overpowered Kim Na-young in the next two games and easily won 11-5.

Shin Yu-bin came back in the 4th match, where her team trailed 1-2, and defeated Ha-eun Yang, who was on a 11-game winning streak this season, 2-0 (11-7, 11-6).

Shin Yu-bin overpowered Yang Ha-eun in strength and kept the lead from start to finish and won a complete victory. 메이저놀이터

Despite Shin Yu-bin’s hard work, Korean Air gave up all of the remaining 3 games and lost to 2nd place Posco International with a match score of 2-3.

Posco International, which had three consecutive victories, won 26 points (7 wins, 4 losses) and chased Samsung Life Insurance (27 points, 8 wins and 3 losses) to the bottom of the chin. Korean Air stayed in 3rd place (24 points, 6 wins and 6 losses).

The 2023 Dunamu Korea Professional Table Tennis League men’s and women’s Korea League regular league will be held until the 22nd. On the 23rd and 24th, semi-playoffs (when the difference between 3rd and 4th places is within 6 points) will be held. The playoffs and championship match will be held on the 22nd and 25th of next month.
