Korean table tennis hopeful ‘Pipyak’ Shin Yu-bin (19) gained popularity by defeating strong players even before his professional league debut.
Shin Yu-bin (ranked 19th in the world) played as an ace in the 2023 Dunamu Korea Professional Table Tennis League (KTTL) Women’s Korea League match held at Studio T (Gwanggyo Gymnasium), a table tennis stadium in Suwon on the 5th, and scored 2-0 in one match against rival Kim Na-young. In her first game before her return to the domestic stage, Shin Yu-bin, who faced Na-young Kim, scored 2 points in the first half and then made a mistake, giving her 4 points. Shin Yu-bin, who soon adapted to the atmosphere of her professional league, reached the 10 first with a backhand attack in a 9-9 situation and took her last point with a powerful forehand attack. Shin Yu-bin, riding on her atmosphere, overpowered Kim Na-young in the next two games and easily won 11-5.
Shin Yu-bin came back in the 4th match, where her team trailed 1-2, and defeated Ha-eun Yang, who was on a 11-game winning streak this season, 2-0 (11-7, 11-6).
