There are many ways to end a game.

The game between the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois, USA on 4 April ended in a 2-1 win for the White Sox.

All three runs scored by both teams came in a blowout. Local media outlets, including MLB.com, cited Elias Sports’ research as the first time that three runs have been scored in a game exclusively on wild pitches.

But the White Sox offence in the bottom of the 10th inning was unusual. With two outs and Tim Anderson at bat, a 96.4 mph four-seam fastball from Detroit pitcher Jose Cisneros sailed off the catcher’s mitt and hit umpire Corey Blazer in the mask as he stood behind the plate.

Blazer was knocked to the ground, and Joan Moncada, who was at third base, stepped in to end the game 스포츠토토.

The skit was the result of a battery miscommunication. “I called for a slider,” Detroit catcher Eric Haas told the Detroit Free Press. Cisneros said he heard a sinker sign on the pitchcom (sign exchange equipment),” Haas said, adding that there was a problem with the sign exchange.

“I hope the umpire was okay. It wasn’t what we wanted, I’m not sure where it hit, it was just chaos,” he said, expressing his sympathy for the umpire.

Detroit head coach Eric Hinch said, “It’s not something you see very often. Especially in a low-scoring game. You go through a lot of things the longer you’re on this floor, but it was definitely a bad way to lose.”

Joan Moncada, who scored the winning points, added: “It was a really weird game. All three points came on blowouts. Sometimes these inexplicable things happen,” he said.

The unhappiest person on the court was the Blazers’ referee. The league office said he was being checked out and will provide more details later.
