Oh Ji-hyun of ‘Election’ showed off her rust-free skills.
On the 5th (local time), Oh Ji-hyun caught a birdie in the Masters event ‘Par 3 Contest’ held on 9 par 3 holes created near Augusta National Golf Club, Georgia, USA. Oh Ji-hyun, who served as caddy for her husband, Kim Si-woo, teed off with a 9-iron on the 9th hole (115 yards), stuck the ball 70cm into the hole, and made a birdie putt directly, receiving applause from the fans. With Oh Ji-hyeon’s birdie, Kim Si-woo recorded a 4 under par and tied for 4th place. 안전놀이터
The Par 3 Contest is an event where players enjoy a festive atmosphere to the fullest with their wives, girlfriends and children as caddies. There is a ‘pinch hit chance’ where a companion acting as a caddy can take the place of a shot or putt. However, there is a ‘jinx’ that the winner cannot wear a ‘green jacket’.
Oh Ji-hyun, who has won 7 times on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour, accompanied Kim Si-woo to the Masters after marrying Kim Si-woo in December of last year. Oh Ji-hyun smiled, saying, “She hit a box of practice (ball)” and said, “She didn’t want to drop the ball into the water.” Oh Ji-hyun expressed her love by saying, “I really wanted to come (to the Masters), and thank you for allowing me to come like this,” and she said, “My husband is cool.”
Kim Si-woo also said, “Before I got married, I didn’t have the right to participate in the Masters, but since I won the PGA Tour in January this year, (Oh) Ji-hyun gave me a gift to participate in the Masters.” I know that, but I’m proud to show you how to play so well,” he smiled broadly.
On the 6th, Kim Si-woo will play the 1st and 2nd rounds with Phil Mickelson, the “signboard of LIV Golf,” and Tom Hogi, the winner of this year’s Par 3 Contest (above the United States). Siwoo Kim has been to the Masters six times, and his best result is a tie for 12th in 2021. Kim Si-woo said, “The weather will be bad during the tournament, but I have experience playing in such a situation.”
