A broadcaster cameraman who was hit in the head by a bad pitch by a fielder during a Major League Baseball (MLB) game was diagnosed with an orbital fracture.
The U.S. sports channel “YES Network” 메이저사이트 said on the 7th (Korea Standard Time), “Cameraman Pete Stendel, who was hit by a ball in the head, was diagnosed with an orbital fracture and is resting at home.”
The cameraman sat next to the dugout at first base in the Major League Baseball game between the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, the previous day (6th).
The dizzying situation came out in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out and runners on first base. Anthony Wolf hit an infield grounder, and Baltimore attempted a double play that led to second baseman-shortstop-first baseman. However, rookie shortstop Gunner Henderson’s throw to first base went wide and hit cameraman Stendel’s head directly.
Yankees medical staff gave first aid to Stendel, and the game was suspended for about 17 minutes. Stendel, who was moved to the car, made a “V” with his fingers, saying he was okay, and the crowd applauded for his recovery.
