The Korean women’s soccer team, led by coach Colin Bell (52), is preparing for the World Cup in earnest.
The Korea Football Association said, “The women’s soccer team will have two friendly evaluation matches in Zambia and Korea in April. The match dates are April 7 and 11, and the venue and time have not yet been decided.”
Since both games are held during the women’s national team A-match period set by the International Football Federation (FIFA), there is no problem with foreign players participating. It will be the first time the women’s national team will face Zambia, and the first time they will play against an African team in the country.
Zambia is a participating team in this year’s Women’s World Cup. They are drawn in Group C to face Spain, Costa Rica and Japan. At the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, held in July of last year as a World Cup qualifier, she ranked third after South Africa and Morocco, earning a right to advance to the finals. In particular, at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, she showed advanced skills to the extent of beating Nigeria, who had won victory over Korea, in the 3rd and 4th place matches.
